The University of Denver’s teams become the first to represent women’s basketball and gymnastics on behalf of the You Can Play Project. The Pioneer women’s gymnastics team won its first WAC championship this season and the women’s basketball team finished 19-12 in its final season of Sun Belt Conference play. Off the court and outside of the gym, the women became the first non-hockey teams to join You Can Play in promoting equality for all athletes and fans regardless of sexual orientation.
Their message is simple: if you’ve got the passion, talent and skill, you can play.
