Spearheaded by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Athletics has joined the You Can Play Team.
“I was excited about this project and the You Can Play initiative when two of our student athletes from our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee first brought the concept to my attention last Fall,” stated UC Director of Athletics Whit Babcock. “As a department, we desire to create and maintain a safe and inclusive environment for each of our 547 student-athletes, 143 staff members, and 18 sports. We are ONE TEAM at UC and this video speaks to that and exemplifies our on-going commitment to diversity and inclusion. I’d like to extend my thanks to our SAAC committee and our BearcatsTV staff for a job well done.”
The primary purpose of SAAC is to act as a liaison between UC’s Department of Athletics administration and the student-athletes. SAAC is also a facilitator of collaboration between UC and the community and its involvement with projects such as You Can Play helps to further foster positive relationships and extend the reach of the Bearcats’ ONE TEAM.
