Nashville Predators co-owner W. Brett Wilson becomes the first team owner to videotape support for LGBT athletes and You Can Play. In addition to the Predators, Wilson is an investor in Derby County FC of the English football league system. He has actively supported the sport of volleyball and the Canadian Olympic swim team.
Canadians will recognize Wilson as the lead deal-making panelist on “Dragons’ Den,” the award-winning show featuring innovative entreprenurs competing for investment funding, and his own series, “Risky Business.” Wilson’s own career as an entrepreneur has been marked by success in investment, energy and entrepreneurial development.
Wilson’s success as a businessman is mirrored by his success as a philanthropist. He has actively supported the Canadian military, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro to support Alzheimer’s research funding, constructed houses in Mexico during annual trips, and shaved his head in support of cancer research. His aggressive support of countless fundraising and charitable efforts have led to his receipt of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, recognizing the achievements of noteworthy Canadians.
“I am proud to support the efforts of LGBTathletes in every sport, at every level,” says Wilson, and he’s shown that support from the training center to the owner’s office.
