The Ohio State University joins the You Can Play Team in a groundbreaking way. The Buckeyes’ hockey team hosted the NCAA’s first Division 1 “Pride Night” February 1 in support of Ohio’s LGBT community February 1, and debuted their You Can Play video in-game.
Led by the school’s athletic director, Gene Smith, and the team’s head coach, Mark Osiecki, the Buckeyes promise to play with passion, integrity and equality.
The Columbus school has been a perennial powerhouse in sports with a 50-year history of hockey. Today, more than a dozen Ohio State alumni are playing in the NHL and affiliated leagues.
