The Massachusetts Institute of Technology created a video in support of the You Can Play Project. Well they are more known for their academics than athletics the Engineers are also a member of the New England woman’s and men’s athletic conference, a division III conference in the NCAA. MIT has a total of 30 teams in the NEWMAC, their colors are cardinal red and grey, and their mascot is Tim the Beaver.
In their video the Engineers explain how “MIT Athletics is a family…centered around community, built on individuality, we are a family that extends across borders, across disciplines, and across differences.” MIT Athletics is welcoming, accepting, and supportive to all types of diversity, of sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression.” “Our family is a support group, a safe space, and a loving community.”
