The Valiants of Manhattanville College join the You Can Play Team in supporting diversity and inclusion for all in sports including LGBT teammates and fans.
According to the school, “The You Can Play video was an idea commissioned from Director of Athletics Keith Levinthal as a way to confirm and promote our culture of tolerance and inclusiveness at Manhattanville College.”
The video features student-athletes spanning most of the sports at Manhattanville as well as department and college administration. The feeling expressed in the video coincides with Manhattanville’s long-standing commitment to social justice and reaffirms our college’s mission to educate students to be ethical and socially-responsible leaders in a global community.
“Whether you are straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual or transsexual, we are all Valiants striving for the same goal,” said Levinthal. “At Manhattanville, we promote a culture of inclusion and support among our student-athletes, and we hope that our video helps to reinforce that. If you are LGBT and you can play, you can definitely play here at Manhattanville.”
Manhattanville College was founded in 1841 as a Catholic college for women. Located in Purchase, NY, Manhattanville has been co-educational and non-denominational since 1971, and remain committed to our rich tradition as a values-centered liberal arts college.
