In 1865, Western Union founder Ezra Cornell said, “I would found an institution where any any person can find instruction in any study.” Nearly 150 years later, the Ithaca, NY university Cornell co-founded is following through on his mission.
The Big Red of Cornell University join the You Can Play team and extend that education beyond classrooms to locker rooms, athletic facilities and fan areas. They list what makes a good teammate, and then promise that those athletes and teammates will play at Cornell. The Ivy League school has won national championships in football, rowing and hockey.
Cornell’s Emma Scott and Danielle Bilodeau scripted the spot and it was produced by Jesse McElwain and Kai Keane. Soccer player Atticus DeProspo assisted in coordinating the project.
