The American Hockey League’s Charlotte Checkers join the You Can Play effort against discrimination in sports. Finishing its third season in Charlotte, the team is an affiliate of the NHL Carolina Hurricanes and ECHL Florida Everblades. Zac Dalpe, Justin Krueger (speaking in German), Rasmus Rissanen (speaking in Finnish), Brett Sutter, team owner Michael Kahn, COO Tera Black and fans Dani, Lisa and Valerie take part in the video. The original Checkers, part of the ECHL, played in Charlotte from 1956- 1977, returning to Charlotte as part of the AHL in 2010.
