Noah Webster founded the school in 1821 but Lord Jeffrey Amherst is the school mascot and the Lord Jeffs join the You Can Play team in supporting inclusion and diversity in sports.
The student-athletes and coaches at Amherst ‘want you on our team’ if you can rip a dive, if you’re fast off the block and if you can win a gritty battle on the ice. They’re joined by AD Suzanne Coffey and Amherst College President Biddy Martin in inviting LGBT athletes to play at Amherst.
